Dairy Start Up Announced as Finalist In Lloyds Bank National Business Awards

The Millbrook Dairy Company has been announced as a finalist in the prestigious Lloyds Bank National Business Awards in the category of New Business of the Year. 

Devon based Millbrook Dairy, was founded in 2019 by respected dairy industry experts, David Evans and Kevin Beer, and achieved staggering success and growth in its first year of trading.  The company has secured significant contracts in both the UK and overseas supported by a funding package from Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking.  It supplies a diverse range of the highest quality British and Irish cheese and butter to a growing home market and international customer base in the USA, China, Canada and South America

The winner of the award - which is for companies who have been trading for fewer than three years with an innovative edge and something to shout about - will be announced at an awards ceremony in November. The award also recognises companies (such as Millbrook Dairy), which have exceeded their initial targets for growth, showing stature and importance within their chosen sector through significant product/service innovation and leadership.

David and Kevin worked together for over 20 years at Pilgrims Choice Cheese before setting up Millbrook Dairy. With David originally from Wales and Kevin originally from Devon, the newly created Devon based business is steeped in a rich heritage of cheese and dairy.

Millbrook Dairy has also launched its own-label product range, which is being specifically targeted to meet an uplift in demand for British products.

David Evans, co-founder of Millbrook Dairy company, explained more about the own brand range. “We hand select every vat for its extra special character, from the tastiest noggin of Farmhouse cheddar to the crunchiest morsel of Vintage. We love a cheese with real flavour and character and butter with just the right balance. We’re not talking ‘wild and woolly’ here, but rather ‘refined and classic’. We know that people search high and low for that extra special something and we have it!”
