1057 - Fit for a King!

We are proud to bring you this intense, gorgeous cheddar made from milk taken from cows that graze the Scottish Glens…  But, why is it called 1057?

1057 alludes to the year that the last Celtic King of Scotland, MacBeth, carelessly lost his head! We felt this auspicious year was one to note, and this robust Scottish Cheddar represents the very best of Scotland.

The cheese is hand selected by David and Kevin, who go out in search of the finest quality cheddar that Scotland has to offer. Only cheese made from Scottish milk, and then expertly made into Scottish Cheddar, can be considered for 1057.

The selection does not stop there, the cheese must have just the right firmness and be open enough to give it that rugged crumbly texture we so love. Then, there is the flavour - we are looking for the subtle balance between full and creamy and bold and punchy, an extra mature cheddar that will keep consumers chopping at the block.

1057 is a characterful Scottish Cheddar, rich because of where it is from and how it is made. A commanding cheese that stands out, a real piece of cheese fit for a real King.

Delicious for cooking, for snacks or just on its own with a glass of something strong!

1057 is available in various formats for Retail and Foodservice, for sale in the UK and for export.  For further information, To find out more about our 1057 brand, please visit our 1057 website or email hello@1057scotland.com.
